DRY vs. Dehydrated Skin !!! {QUICK POST}

Here's a quick post regarding Dry vs Dehydrated skin !!

While common for someone with dry skin, dehydration is a condition that can be seen with all skin types. Dehydrated skin lacks WATER, which is different from DRY skin that lacks OIL.

It's important to remember the difference because even oily skin can be dehydrated and needs to be hydrated. Dehydrated skin can look thin or flaky and can feel tight and dry. Skin that needs moisture tends o absorb products quickly. Dehydrated skin can be caused by both internal and external factors such as medications, products, environmental factors and lifestyle choices such as smoking. Drinking plenty of water and hydrating the skin with moisturizers on a daily basis can help minimize the effects of dryness and dehydration.

Quick points:

  • Dry skin is a skin type, and skin dehydration is a skin condition.
  • Just because someone drinks 8 glasses of water a day doesn't mean they can't have dehydrated skin.
  • Make sure you exfoliate GOOD at least once a week to avoid DEAD SKIN BUILDUP which can make your skin look flaky.
  • Try using a HYDRATION MASQUE at home, or if you can afford it go for a HYDRATING FACIAL.
  • MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE : Especially right after you get out of the shower and are still a bit wet, AND try adding a drop of baby oil into the lotion in your hand for EXTRA moisturization! Applying lotion while you're still wet helps to lock the moisture into your skin !
